Contrast first: dark dots on a light background (or the inverse) scan most reliably. Avoid similar brightness between foreground and background — red on green, for example — and keep gradients high-contrast from end to end.
Stylized shapes are easier to misread than plain squares: dot and rounded styles can trip older Android cameras. Keep the quiet zone — the empty margin around the code — clear, and use fewer effects when the code will be printed small or scanned from a distance.
Error correction L and M are available on every plan; Q (25%) and H (30%) are available on Pro and Business, giving the code more tolerance for logos, textures, and wear. Before a large print run, test the final design on several phones.
